A method of linking functional and structural connectivity analysis in urban green infrastructure network construction

Abstract Accelerated urbanization and population growth lead to the fragmentation of urban green space loss biodiversity. There are few studies on integration structural functional connectivity solve this problem. Our study aims draw up a methodology synthesize two methods evaluation, accordingly, construct an infrastructure (UGI) network which is great significance maintain stability ecosystem. Taking Beijing as area, we first used Morphological Spatial Pattern Analysis (MSPA) identify source patches, then combined with graph theory-based landscape metrics discuss effect different diffusion distances regional classify importance level patches. Finally, both least-cost path (LCP) circuit theory pinch areas in corridors for optimization. The results show that (1) area obviously polarized. Source patches mountain hilly have good ecological bases large areas, density relatively high, makes contribution overall connectivity; plain severely fragmented, there only small number potential connecting suburban areas. (2) UGI composed 70 148 corridors. distance most beneficial improve 20–25 km. (3) 6 improving present coexistence high migration resistance optimization potential, urgently need be restored first. This provides method combine analysis formulate more scientifical protection strategies planning departments.
